How to Add an AI Provider

Connect an AI provider so the organization's AI features have a model to call.

Before you start

The Manage AI Settings right, and your organization must have AI Support enabled.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Artificial Intelligence → Provider Setup.
2. Click Add Provider (or similar — the "+" action on this screen).
3. Fill in:
   • Name — a label for this connection.
   • Provider Type — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), Mistral, Cohere, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, xAI (Grok), Meta (Llama), Perplexity, Hugging Face, or Custom / OpenAI-compatible.
   • API Key.
   • Base URL — for Custom/OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
   • Max Rate Limit, default 60.
   • Cost Tier — Light, Medium, or Heavy.
   • Whether this provider supports vision.
4. Click Test Connection to verify the key works before saving.
5. Save.

To manage priority

Drag providers into the order they should be tried — if one fails, the platform falls through to the next.

To add a model to a provider

Use the Add Model form on the provider's row to register a specific model identifier under it.
