Note: unlike Departments, Job Titles are flat — there's no nesting or hierarchy between them. A member can have one Department and one Job Title; both independently contribute rights on top of their role(s), they aren't a hierarchy of each other.
Define job titles your organization uses, and optionally grant them their own roles or rights.
Before you start
The Configure System right.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Essential Setup → Job Titles.
- Click Add Job Title.
- Enter a Job Title (2–100 characters).
- Optionally set a Session Timeout.
- Under Associated Roles, check which security roles apply to this job title.
- Under Direct Rights, optionally grant or deny specific rights directly, the same Granted/Not Specified/Nuke tree used elsewhere in this section.
- Save.
To delete a job title
Click Delete and confirm: "Are you sure you want to delete the job title '{name}'? This cannot be undone."
What you'll see
A job title's associated roles and direct rights feed into the same permission waterfall as departments and roles — see Security Roles Explained
