Build a training course from slides and tests, publish it, and assign it to your team.
Before you start
- Manage Training right.
Steps
Build the course
- In the nav bar, click Human Resources → Training tab. You land on the Courses sub-tab.
- Click New course — this creates a draft and opens the full-page course editor (a course can be many-slide, multi-session work, so it's a dedicated page rather than a dialog).
- In the editor's Outline rail, add units, and within each unit add slides and tests:
- A slide has a layout (media left/right/above, full bleed, or text-only), body text, alt text for its media (required before publishing, so the course works with a screen reader), an optional transcript, and speaker notes (never shown to the learner).
- A test is made of questions — one answer, several answers, or true/false — each with points, an optional explanation shown after grading, and optional shuffling of questions or choices.
- In Settings, configure identity, passing (pass mark, whether scoring is weighted across all tests or per-test, attempts allowed, cooldown between attempts, when correct answers are shown), sequencing (sequential vs. free order, whether a video must be watched before advancing), schedule (due days after assignment, recertification interval), completion (whether to issue a certificate, and whether to file it to the member's documents), and notifications (email on assignment/completion, reminder timing).
- The editor autosaves as you work ("Saving…" / "Saved" / "Not saved — retry").
- When ready, click Publish. Publishing with nothing changed since the last version is treated as informational ("This course is already published as it stands"), not an error.
Assign it
- Back on the Courses sub-tab, click Assign on the published course.
- Choose the audience: all team members, specific departments, specific job types, and/or specific people.
- Optionally override the due-days setting for this assignment, and choose whether to skip anyone who already passed the current version.
- Click Preview recipients to see who resolves to before sending, then confirm to assign.
What you'll see
The assignment result reports how many people were newly assigned, how many already had it, how many were skipped (no email address), and how many notification emails were queued. Assigned members see the course on their own My Account → Legal & Compliance → Assigned Training tab (see How to Complete an Assigned Training Course).
