The escomputers/freepbx:17 image bakes /etc/odbc.ini with Server=db (the docker-compose link target). On this Kubernetes deployment MariaDB lives at \$MARIADB_HOST (freepbx-mariadb), so left unfixed the cdr_adaptive_odbc backend silently fails to connect — odbc connection cache stays at 0 active, the cdr table never receives inserts, and the softphone shows an empty call history despite calls completing. /etc/ is ephemeral on this deployment so the bad DSN reasserts on every restart; rewriting it from startup.sh after the MariaDB readiness wait keeps the fix in place across pod restarts.
