Conversation (session)
Every time you send the AI Assistant a first message, it's saved as a conversation (called a session behind the scenes) — a running thread of your messages and its replies, titled "New Chat" until you rename it. Conversations persist: closing the window doesn't delete them, and you can reopen and continue any past one. There's no limit shown in the UI on how many you can have.
Conversations can optionally be filed into folders (up to three levels deep) to keep them organized — see How to Organize AI Conversations into Folders A conversation not in any folder shows up under "Unfiled."
Model selector
The window's header shows a model dropdown, defaulting to Auto, listing whatever specific AI models and providers your organization has connected. As of this pass, changing it has no effect. The dropdown fetches and displays real models and providers and lets you select one, but that selection is never sent anywhere: it's held only in the chat window's local UI state and isn't included in the request the app sends when you send a message, isn't attached to the conversation, and isn't saved. Whatever model actually answers you is decided entirely by the server (following the organization's provider priority/failover order — see AI Providers Explained), regardless of what the dropdown shows. Don't rely on it to route a question to a particular model.
Tool results
If your organization's admin has connected MCP tools to the assistant (see MCP Servers Explained, admin-side), a reply may include a collapsed "Tool: [name]" entry — click it to expand and see what the assistant looked up or ran before answering. Not every organization has this enabled; without it, replies are text-only.
Image attachments
The message box always shows an attach-image control. Whether an attached image is actually usable by the model can still depend on your organization's AI access policy (Allow Image Upload — an admin-side setting) and on the model's own capabilities; the client doesn't hide the control based on that policy, so if an attachment doesn't seem to be taken into account, that's the first thing to check with an admin.
