Provision or register mailboxes, set up aliases, and create shared mailboxes. See Types of Mailbox Explained first — this screen looks different depending on your active email provider.
Before you start
The Manage Email Settings right, and a connected email provider. If your domain's DNS isn't fully configured yet, the Mailboxes, Aliases, and Shared Mailboxes tabs each link out to a Complete DNS setup step (/setup/dns) — finish that first if prompted, since these features depend on it.
Steps
Mailboxes (enterprise providers)
- Go to Settings → E-Mail → Mailboxes.
- Click Sync to pull existing mailboxes from your provider, or Add Mailbox to create a new one (prefix + domain if you have a verified domain, otherwise a full email field), with a Display Name and Password.
- Expand a mailbox row to assign members — pick one from Assign Member and click Assign; remove one by clicking the × on their chip.
- Use the row actions to Edit, Suspend/Activate, or Delete a mailbox (which of these are available depends on your provider's capabilities).
Mailboxes (personal providers)
- Click Add Email Box, enter the email address and an optional display name.
- Expand the row: for OAuth providers, click Connect Account to authorize it yourself, or leave Allow Member To Configure on so the assigned member connects it themselves from their own account page. For Individual IMAP, click Configure IMAP to enter host/port/credentials directly.
- Assign a member the same way as enterprise mailboxes.
Email Aliases
- Switch to the Email Aliases sub-tab, click Add Alias.
- Pick the member it's assigned to, set the alias address, and an optional display name.
Shared Mailboxes
- Switch to the Shared Mailboxes sub-tab, click Create Shared Mailbox.
- Fill in the address, display name, and description.
- Expand it to Grant Access to additional members.
